A real handmade leaded stained-glass robin perched on a hand-forged dark-iron wire branch with two red-glass-bead berries. The bright robin-breast orange isn't dyed cathedral glass that fades in five summers — it's silver-stained at 575°C using the same 14th-century chemistry that's been colouring York Minster's south transept since 1330. Albert Whitmore (70, former Northumberland blacksmith, 28 years at the bench) hand-forges every wire branch on a coal forge in his Hexham smallholding workshop. Final 47 robins before he closes end of June 2026 to move with his wife Margery after her stroke.
